Leaked Reports Suggest Rayman's Return to Gaming Platforms
Insiders hint that Ubisoft may revive the beloved Rayman franchise with new titles for modern consoles.
The Rayman franchise might make a comeback for current gaming platforms, according to a rumor coming from a well-known source in the gaming industry. Fresh speculation surrounding Rayman suggests that Ubisoft may be considering reviving the series through a compilation of its earlier titles, despite a lack of official announcements from the company.

The original Rayman game made its debut in 1995 on platforms such as PlayStation and 3DO, featuring Rayman on a quest to rescue captured Electoons and defeat various bosses at the end of different themed worlds. The franchise later transitioned into 3D platforming with 1999’s Rayman 2: The Great Escape, renowned for being one of the most challenging games on the PS1.
Ubisoft is rumored to be developing two new Rayman titles
A notable rumor claims that Ubisoft is potentially working on two titles for the Rayman series. Insider Nash Weedle indicated that one of these games could be a compilation of previous entries tailored for modern gaming platforms. Additionally, these projects may incorporate the artistic style seen in Rayman Legends and Rayman Origins, both of which are reminiscent of hand-drawn animation.
It was also mentioned that these upcoming Rayman titles could be previewed behind closed doors at the Gamescom event taking place from August 20 to August 24 in Cologne, Germany.
Due to Ubisoft’s policy, the company has not commented on the Rayman-related rumors; thus, it is advisable to approach such speculation with caution. The prospect of Rayman’s return isn’t entirely new, as Ubisoft renewed the trademark for Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, first introduced in 2003 on consoles like the PS2 and GameCube, suggesting that they have ongoing interest in the franchise.
