Final Fantasy 14 Scores My Award for Most Specific Bug Fix of 2025

Final Fantasy 14 recently fixed an unusual glitch tied to in-game pricing. The issue caused player disconnections when selling items for a specific price range.

Final Fantasy 14 recently claimed my personal trophy for the Most Specific Bug Fix in a MMO 2025. Oddly enough, it pertains to a glitch that disconnects players when attempting to sell items within the price range of 44,442 to 49,087 gil on the market. This bug, documented in the latest patch update, highlights the quirky issues that can crop up in online gaming.

In this most recent update, Square Enix dropped the following note:

“In Sinus Ardorum, a player could get disconnected from the server if they put an item up for sale on the market and the asking price was set between 44,442 gil and 49,087 gil.”

Fortunately, this issue has now been resolved!

Sinus Ardorum, a new zone introduced in the cosmic exploration content, has been a focus of development with the addition of summoning bells in previous patches. But how did such a bizarre glitch come about? As numbers in games can lead to overflow errors, it’s vital to ensure that the coding doesn’t inadvertently cause players to be booted due to pricing mishaps.

Congratulations to the developer responsible for fixing this bug—you’ve earned my heartfelt thanks! I’m looking forward to what’s next, as the game continues to evolve and improve.
