Genshin Impact Unveils Groundbreaking Sandbox Gameplay Feature

HoYoverse announces an innovative sandbox mode that will empower players to craft unique content within Genshin Impact, while providing tools for character customization and public interaction.

In a recent announcement, Genshin Impact has revealed a significant addition to its gameplay format: an ambitious sandbox mode designed to allow players to generate user-created content and customize their characters. This new mode, which is distinct from the current game experience, is a platform for creativity and interaction among players.

Initially communicated to the Chinese audience on August 8, 2025, the expanded sandbox feature aims to empower players with a suite of powerful tools. Expected to enable comprehensive coding support and character customization, it will also facilitate public lobbies where users can share their creations.

The sandbox mode, tentatively referred to as Miliastra Wonderland, may support multiplayer sessions with up to eight players and might even include its own cosmetic-focused gacha system—unlike the character-centric systems seen in the main game.

As this new module gears up for its launch, anticipation is building around its potential release by the end of 2025, possibly coinciding with the arrival of Version 6.1 of Genshin Impact. This thrilling development illustrates HoYoverse’s commitment to enhancing co-op gameplay, paving the way for an enriched player experience.
