Take-Two's CEO Confident About GTA 6 Release Date

Take-Two Interactive's Strauss Zelnick reassures fans about the release date for Grand Theft Auto 6, emphasizing high conviction despite past delays.

Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, recently provided an update regarding the anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6. Zelnick expressed a strong sense of conviction about meeting the launch date, reassuring fans who worry about potential delays. After an extended wait since fans first learned about its development in 2022, the game’s previous release plans had already been shifted from Fall 2025 to 2026.

In an interview on CNBC’s Money Movers, Zelnick discussed the challenges influenced by earlier delays and reinforced his belief in the current timetable of May 26, 2026 for GTA 6: “my level of conviction is very, very high, obviously.”

This response was a relief to many, as continual setbacks could damage both fan enthusiasm and investor confidence. With high expectations riding on this title, Zelnick implied that a repeat of such delays is not a desirable outcome for Take-Two Interactive, especially in light of the game’s potential to break sales records upon its release.
