Following this, Community Manager Katherine Baskin cheekily remarked, “hmmm… it’s giving ‘we have Helldivers at home.’”

The new Fortnite update prominently features bugs, mirroring Helldivers 2’s gameplay style. Players can stomp various in-game bugs and find O.X.R. Drop Pods stocked with items. Additionally, the newly revealed “Hammerhead Choppa” resembles the pelican from Helldivers 2.

Despite Arrowhead’s clear inspiration from Starship Troopers for Helldivers 2, Jorjani appears unconcerned about Fortnite’s homage to their title. He admits, “If the kings of video game drip think our drip is cool enough to inspire them… then that’s super cool.” This highlights the company’s confidence in their distinctive gaming offering.
