Trump Discusses Future Nvidia AI Chip Deals with China

In a recent press briefing, President Trump revealed insights on potential negotiations involving Nvidia's advanced AI chips and hinted at future agreements with China.

Recently, President Trump shared insights about Nvidia’s advancements in AI technology, particularly regarding the highly regarded Blackwell chips. He suggested that potential negotiations with China could pave the way for future AI chip deals.

“I think he’s coming to see me again about that, but that will be an un-enhanced version of the big one.”
Translation: Trump indicated interest in discussing deals concerning modified Blackwell chips.

In his remarks, Trump emphasized that while the H20 chips are now considered outdated, the Blackwell chips remain at the forefront of technology. He quipped about potentially negotiating a less powerful version of these chips for the Chinese market:

“It’s possible I’d make a deal [with a] somewhat enhanced—in a negative way—Blackwell.”
