Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo Switch 2 part manufacturers are raising their sales outlooks for the third quarter of 2025, which could bode well for gamers seeking new consoles during the holidays. In essence, heightened demand from Nintendo for components from two suppliers could lead to an uptick in production and stock ahead of the busy shopping season.

Since launching on June 5, the Switch 2 has rapidly become Nintendo’s best-selling console, eclipsing six million units sold by July 24. However, stock levels have fluctuated as retailers like Amazon have implemented notification systems to ensure legitimate buyers can acquire the new console. This scarcity led Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa to apologize in late June, pledging to enhance efforts to meet the rising demand for the Switch 2.
Production Boost for Holiday Season
Even though the 2025 holiday season is months away, Nintendo and its partners are already preparing their production. Notably, PixArt and Hosiden, Nintendo’s manufacturing partners, have updated their sales projections for the remainder of Q3 2025, responding to increased demand for Switch 2 components. Their revised forecasts signal Nintendo’s attempts to ramp up console production and inventory in anticipation of holiday shopping. The announcements came via Bluesky from Nintendo Patents Watch.

Hosiden, which assembles Switch components, adjusted its Q3 2025 forecast due to new orders from Nintendo after the Switch 2’s June launch. Similarly, PixArt, known for producing the sensors in Joy-Con controllers, expects sales to rise between 11% and 19% through September. Both companies attribute this growth to Nintendo’s heightened demand for the Switch 2 and its accessories.
While production intensifies in anticipation of the 2025 holiday season, Nintendo faces ongoing economic uncertainties, especially regarding tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, which have prompted price increases for original Switch models. The future pricing of the Switch 2 and any related bundles is still uncertain, though strong sales may influence Nintendo’s decisions as the holidays approach.
