Leaked Release Date for Xbox's ROG Ally Handheld

A reliable source suggests the ROG Xbox Ally handheld consoles are set for an October 2025 launch with pre-orders possibly starting soon.

A reputable insider has shared insights regarding the eagerly awaited ROG Xbox Ally handheld console, indicating it will debut in October 2025. While Microsoft and ASUS have not officially confirmed any details yet, a presentation during Gamescom 2025 is anticipated to unveil further information regarding the ROG Xbox Ally release.

In June, Microsoft revealed the device at their Xbox Games Showcase. Two models are being developed in collaboration with Asus: the standard and the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X. Both models will utilize AMD’s latest Ryzen Z2 processors and are expected to feature up to 24GB of RAM, alongside the unique gaming version of Windows 11 that enhances performance and battery longevity.

Upcoming Release and Pre-Order Details

Insights from industry insider billbil-kun suggest the following:

  • Launch date: October 16, 2025
  • Pre-order start: August 20, 2025
  • Pricing:
    • ROG Xbox Ally: €599 (approx. $700)
    • ROG Xbox Ally X: €899 (approx. $1,050)

The anticipated price tags are on the higher side for handheld consoles, likely surpassing that of the Xbox Series X, but the ROG Xbox Ally’s portability allows gamers to enjoy their Game Pass titles anywhere, plus the versatility of gaming on Windows gives users access to a variety of titles, including possible PlayStation PC games like God of War and Horizon.
