A new board game based on Tekken has just blown up its crowdfunding campaign, reaching its goal of €50,000 (about $58,311) in an astonishing 35 minutes and 45 seconds. Currently, it’s surpassed this initial target, accumulating more than €350,000 (approximately $408,180), which is 700% of its original objective.
The game, titled Tekken: The Board Game, is described as an asymmetric fighting game where players aged 13 and up can engage in battles across various stages. The game allows for single matches or epic tournaments, making it adaptable for different play styles.
With a core box that includes eight oversized miniatures representing iconic characters like Jin, Kazuya, and Nina, the game comes with various boards emulating stages from the franchise, complete with a deck of cards depicting fighter combos, heat boosts, and rage arts.
Multiple expansions are in the works as well, promising to introduce additional characters like Panda, Kuma, and Heihachi in subsequent releases.
