I enjoy ghost-related content, whether it’s stories, old photographs claimed to show evidence of spirits, or videos asserting ghost activity.
However, I find such themes entertaining rather than believable. There’s usually a plausible explanation for any shadowy visage or fleeting light in a supposedly haunted image. Still, late at night, when alone in a quiet house, I can easily convince myself that ghosts are real for just a moment.
As distressing as that may seem, there’s a new game titled Shutter Story coming soon. It has piqued my interest, yet I wouldn’t want to play it solo as I’d probably end up genuinely scared.
In Shutter Story, players assist a friend fearing his family is haunted, scrutinizing old photographs and home videos to unveil the truth. The game features SpectralAware, a software that allows players to analyze media for possible ghostly presences. Spoiler: there are indeed horrifying specters invisible in the background.
The game will offer first-person segments where players can wander through the haunted house, experiencing unexplainable phenomena firsthand. It sounds like an exhilaratingly spooky adventure—provided someone is there to fend off the supernatural!
For now, there’s no confirmed release date for Shutter Story, but keep your eyes peeled for updates. It’s sure to be an intriguing experience, much like the ghost lurking just behind you as you read this.
