Apex Legends: Season 26 Adjustment and Accolades Fix

Respawn Studios has issued a new patch for Apex Legends, addressing issues linked to the Season 26 update, including improvements to the Accolades system.

Apex Legends developer Respawn has rolled out a significant update aimed at correcting multiple problems introduced during Season 26. Notably, this patch enhances the Accolades notification system and eliminates some unnecessary user interface elements linked to Caustic’s passive ability, Field Research.

In addition, Respawn has successfully ported the game to new consoles, with Apex Legends being available on Nintendo Switch 2 since August 5. Switch and Switch 2 players can also unlock an exclusive Legendary Pathfinder skin by logging in before September 16.

Due to player feedback regarding bothersome notifications, Respawn temporarily disabled the newly added Accolades feature. Soon after, they reassured the community with an update comprising fixes, including an effective audio muting option for the Notifications. Players had criticized the Accolades notifications for being incessantly disruptive—similar to the bothersome bell ringing associated with Hector Salamanca from Breaking Bad.

Furthermore, this update addresses various player-reported issues following the Season 26 rollout, such as the Ranked Distribution screen misdisplay during Battle Royale matches. Also, the company removed redundant interface elements associated with Caustic’s Field Research ability in the new Wildcard game mode.

Patch Notes for the August 6 Update:

  • Fix for Accolades notifications, re-enabling the feature.
  • Compact setting for Accolades display now properly mutes audio.
  • Resolved issue where the Ranked Distribution screen didn’t display correctly before Battle Royale matches.
  • Removed unnecessary UI elements for Caustic’s passive ability in Wildcard mode.

Respawn’s swift response to the feedback ensures players will no longer face constant notifications for achievements, echoing their proactive measures with previous patches, such as the temporary removal of Revenant from Apex Legends after a game-breaking bug emerged during Season 25. The influence of Apex Legends continues to resonate within the gaming community, with new titles looking to capture its essence.
