GTA 6 Will Depart From Longstanding Character That Fans Love
Upcoming GTA 6 will not include beloved character Lazlow Jones, who has been part of the series since 2001. The highly anticipated game is set for release on May 26, 2026.
It appears that the much-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 will not include the character Lazlow Jones, who has been a fixture in nearly all GTA titles since Grand Theft Auto 3 launched in 2001. This new iteration is set to release on May 26, 2026, 13 years since GTA 5 was first available.
Despite the enormous excitement surrounding GTA 6, information on its features has been limited. Rockstar Games has shared a couple of trailers and some character details but has not yet offered insight into gameplay or online play mechanisms.
No Lazlow Jones in GTA 6
The GTA games have historically featured storylines that stand alone, with occasional references across titles. The same holds for GTA 6, but fans were expecting a return of Lazlow Jones, given his long-standing presence in the series. However, recent statements suggest that he may not be part of this release. In an interview, Lazlow mentioned doubts about his appearance in GTA 6 due to his departure from Rockstar in 2020 to work with Dan Houser at Absurd Ventures. While this does not unequivocally rule him out, it’s clear he hasn’t been approached regarding the new installment.*
