EA has stated that they have made a significant investment in the next installment of the Battlefield series, announcing that it will be released during the next fiscal year, beginning in April 2025. This timeframe projects a release window between April 2025 and April 2026.
The company emphasized their commitment to developing the largest Battlefield game ever, with CEO Andrew Wilson noting the collective efforts of multiple studios in creating the new title.
“We’ve invested more in this Battlefield than any Battlefield before. We have four studios working on it. We believe this could be the biggest Battlefield we have ever made,” Wilson stated, further expressing the company’s desire for early player engagement through a new program called Battlefield Labs, where playtesting opportunities are being introduced earlier in the development cycle.
“There is some trepidation amongst the core community as to what this Battlefield will be,” Wilson remarked, addressing concerns over the franchise’s recent history. The launch of Battlefield 2042 had mixed reviews, prompting EA and its development teams to consider strong player feedback in their ongoing development processes.
With the potential for significant shifts in the gaming industry landscape, EA acknowledges external competition may influence their release strategy but remains focused on maintaining a course towards delivering this highly anticipated game.
