Microsoft Resolves the Only Bug I Enjoyed: Vista's Startup Sound Now Plays on Windows 11
Users of Windows 11's Insider program experienced a bug where the nostalgic Vista startup sound played unexpectedly. Microsoft has now fixed this issue.
When utilizing the Windows Insider program, users discovered that an unexpected bug caused the nostalgic Windows Vista startup sound to play on Windows 11 devices instead of the current sound.
Microsoft has now addressed this issue, notifying users in the Canary channel that the default Windows 11 boot sound will return.
The glitch, initially discovered just last month, caused confusion as users reminisced about the Vista era, which launched in January 2007. Since then, mainstream support for Vista has long ceased, marking eight years without security updates.
While many found themselves longing for the unique boot sound from Vista, now they will revert to the more recent sounds associated with Windows 11.
For those interested in customization, options to modify startup sounds are available within the Windows settings, allowing users to create a unique experience whenever they boot their device.
