EA continues to be quite unclear regarding the future of The Sims, but one fact is evident: The Sims 5 is not in the works, and the series will take a drastically different form going forward.
As reported by GamesRadar, EA president Laura Miele emphasized this point during an interview with Variety. She explained that transitioning to a new game would neglect players’ over 10-year investment in the current series.
The short answer? EA’s focus remains on developing a unified Sims Universe, alongside multiplayer options. Miele mentioned that the team is “hard at work” on shaping this platform to match player expectations. Although she did not delve into extensive details, her comments reflect prior statements made to investors last September.
Miele stated, “What I wouldn’t want to have happen is for players to start from ground zero and lose all their beloved content and purchased expansions. We’ve provided over 85 content packs for The Sims 4 over the last decade. Resetting everything would not be player friendly.”
