Good News: Battlefield 6 Leaves Out the EA App on Steam

Battlefield 6 will not require the EA App for Steam players, while Epic Games Store users must use it.

The evil is vanquished—at least on Steam.

In a surprising turn of events, when Battlefield 6 launches on Steam, it will not necessitate the EA App for verification, a relief for the many players who dread having to manage multiple launchers for their games. Unfortunately, users who purchase through the Epic Games Store will be required to use the EA App.

According to EA’s fact sheet regarding the game’s release, it clearly states: “Steam players will not need to use [the] EA App to play Battlefield 6 but will need an EA account. Those who purchased Battlefield 6 via the Epic Games Store will need [the] EA App and an EA account to play.” This distinction will inevitably frustrate those loyal to Epic.
