Liquid’s recent performance at IEM Cologne left their new coach, Viktor “flashie” Tamás Bea, feeling the need for significant adjustments. After the team’s disappointing elimination, where they managed only eight rounds across two maps against FaZe in the lower bracket, flashie stated:
“Unfortunately, we are not ready to face these teams yet. We need to go back to the drawing board and really go in-depth into how we can get there as fast as possible.”
This early exit follows a series of disappointing results, including failing to secure a win at the BLAST.tv Austin Major and a setback against Sashi in the ESL Pro League qualifiers. As the coach aims to establish a new team culture and environment, he acknowledged the pressures on the team, stressing the importance of taking the necessary time to build a successful system.
In his view, a structured approach is essential for the players to excel both in and out of the game. He noted the need for in-depth analysis of their matches to catch up with top teams like FaZe and MOUZ, emphasizing that developing a working team environment takes time. Flashie remarked that pushing for rapid results may damage long-term goals.
As Liquid navigates these challenges, their journey to elevate their performance continues, with flashie optimistic about the future, saying:
“At the end of the day, I just want a team that has a system that lets the players thrive, but it just takes a lot of time.”
This focus on creating an effective structure is crucial as the team seeks to rebound from their current struggles.
