Two Major Xbox Titles Confirmed to Launch on PS5

A recent report suggests that two significant Xbox exclusives will soon make their way to the PlayStation 5, revealing a strategic shift in Microsoft's publishing approach.

Leaked Titles Coming to PlayStation 5

Recent reports indicate that Gears of War: E-Day and State of Decay 3, previously Xbox exclusives, are set to be released on the PS5. This marks a shift in Microsoft’s strategy towards embracing a multi-platform model, with numerous ports of previously exclusive games to rival consoles.

In early 2024, Microsoft began distancing itself from exclusivity, aiming for a traditional third-party publishing model. Since then, it has released numerous Xbox titles on competing platforms. Recently, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 made its debut simultaneously on the PS4, PS5, and Switch on July 11.

Gears of War: E-Day Details

Sources suggest that Gears of War: E-Day, a title in development, lists the PS5 as a target platform, reflecting ongoing trends of cross-platform releases. This game is a prequel to the original trilogy and is tentatively timed for a release in 2026. Meanwhile, the specifics of its launch on PlayStation remain unconfirmed.

State of Decay 3 Insights

Similarly, State of Decay 3 is reportedly being developed for the PS5, as noted in a developer’s online resume. Initially slated for release in 2025, the game has now been pushed back to 2026, but the exact launch date is still unclear.

Upcoming Multi-Platform Releases

Beyond these titles, numerous other Xbox games are allegedly being planned for multi-platform releases, including Avowed, South of Midnight, Starfield, and more. Amid these developments, Microsoft has indicated its commitment to making games accessible across platforms, promising exciting times ahead for gamers.
