Exciting News for 'Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment' as Brazil Ratings Roll In

The upcoming title 'Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment' is officially rated in Brazil, hinting at its impending release.

The eagerly awaited title for the Switch 2, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, has been formally rated in Brazil, stirring buzz about its imminent launch. This game, which was revealed during Nintendo’s dedicated Switch 2 Direct presentation in April, will allow players to engage in combat as Princess Zelda and various beloved characters from the franchise.

Incorporating characters from the Legend of Zelda series alongside the action-packed gameplay of Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment retains familiar elements from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, released in 2020. Set during The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo has been developing it for a while; initially, it was intended to be a title for the original Switch. Fans may not have to wait long to experience this action-packed adventure, as the recent rating suggests a 2025 release is possible.

A recent tweet from indie journalist necrolipe confirmed that the game has been rated in Brazil, an indicator that crucial content is in position, pointing to the possibility of appearing on the Switch 2 by year-end. Speculation regarding its release continues, with Nintendo only noting a winter launch. November appears to be a strong candidate since the company frequently unveils significant titles in this month, including past mainline Zelda games, though an early 2026 release cannot be ruled out.

Despite limited previews of the title, producer Ryota Matsushita and studio head Yosuke Hayashi have revealed intriguing insights. They mentioned that the enhanced power of the Switch 2 significantly simplifies the incorporation of more adversaries into epic battles, promising improved performance compared to Age of Calamity on the older console. Unlike its predecessor, which often struggled to maintain 30 FPS, the latest version is expected to run smoothly at 60 FPS on the new platform.

Nintendo also confirmed that Age of Imprisonment fits into Zelda canon, marking it as the first installment in the series to do so. Although initial footage received positive reactions, many franchise enthusiasts are eager to know when a new major entry will arrive for the Switch 2, as no official statements have been made yet.
