GamerLegion's Coach Displays Confidence After Quarter-Final Defeat

After a disappointing loss to BetBoom, GamerLegion coach Ash shares his insights on the team's performance and future.

In the aftermath of a quarter-final elimination at FISSURE Playground 1, GamerLegion’s coach, Ashley “ash” Battye, expressed mixed sentiments regarding his team’s performance against BetBoom, stating, “Maybe it’s not the worst thing, we ultimately got to playoffs, but we kind of had high hopes here.”

Reflecting on the match, he noted, “I think we didn’t play at our best in any map really. It’s going to take a while to get there. I feel like we’ve not really shown our A-game. That’s kind of what we came here to do, to at least show a couple of maps. Maybe it’s not the worst thing, but we kind of had high hopes there.”

Furthermore, Erik “ztr” Gustafsson, despite having a strong start by taking BetBoom’s map pick of Dust2, struggled later in the series. Coach ash remarked on Oldřich “PR” Nový’s performance, who was ill on the match day, saying, “It’s probably going to happen at some point that he can’t just be amazing every single game. So we’ll let it slide. Not something to really worry about. He is amazing.”

The coach emphasized the need for the team to regroup and analyze their performance, noting, “We’ll just go back and check what happened. I think mentally we weren’t the best today.”

GamerLegion is set to bounce back from this setback as they prepare for upcoming matches.
