Destiny 2 Developers Counter 'Stealth Nerfs' Claims Amid Change Log Controversy

Bungie addresses accusations regarding undisclosed nerfs in Destiny 2's new expansion and aims to clarify changes.

Destiny 2’s latest expansion, The Edge of Fate, is facing scrutiny as accusations arise claiming that it has introduced ‘stealth nerfs’ to the game. Players have noted discrepancies within the extensive change log provided by Bungie, which has led to a community uproar.

Bungie’s Dylan Gafner, communications manager for the game, recently addressed these concerns, stating, “We’re looking to get details out ASAP on the missed notes”. Furthermore, he emphasized that the development team never intended to implement any stealth changes unnoticed by the players.

In response to the backlash, Gafner explained, “We would be completely out of our minds if we thought we could slip something under the rug”. He acknowledged that a combination of lengthy patch notes and ongoing staffing challenges may have resulted in missing details.

As the controversy unfolds, players await clarification from Bungie regarding the claims while also reflecting on the developer’s past missteps, including recent layoffs that have affected their communication processes.
