Mario Kart Tour is about to introduce its first new content in almost two years. The upcoming update will feature new outfits and karts, potentially appealing to lapsed players who might consider revisiting this mobile adaptation of the beloved franchise.
Originally launched in 2019, Mario Kart Tour brought the excitement of the famous racing series to mobile devices shortly after the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch. Although it received mixed reviews, the addition of unique tracks in Mario Kart Tour garnered enough attention that Nintendo integrated several into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Following an announcement, it was revealed that the new update will be live from July 23 to August 6, 2025, coinciding with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2’s new title, Mario Kart World. Players can expect matching mechanic outfits for Mario and Luigi along with four new karts entering the game during this period.

Will Mario Kart Tour Receive Further Updates?\
Beyond these additions, the game seems to be continuing its trend of recycling older content. Currently, players will see familiar tours as part of a newly established schedule, aiming to attract existing Mario Kart Tour enthusiasts towards the new Mario Kart World on the Switch 2. Maintaining ongoing updates for Mario Kart Tour could potentially divert attention from this new console release. The latest entry, Mario Kart World, has performed remarkably well, achieving significant sales milestones despite some community backlash over online updates and requests for the return of features from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
