Update Enhances Lenovo Legion Go S SteamOS with Joystick RGB Support

The latest update brings joystick RGB lighting support to the Lenovo Legion Go S SteamOS while addressing some persistent issues.

The Legion Go S powered by SteamOS is celebrated as a leading handheld gaming device but has faced certain shortcomings recently. A recent update has addressed a previous lack of joystick RGB lighting support.

This update adds features for joystick lighting: users can toggle the RGB lights on and off, select from different effects (solid, breathe, chroma, or rainbow), and control brightness. These settings can be accessed through Settings > Customization if you’re on the Beta update channel with the latest version.

While this improvement is welcomed, there remains the concern about the battery life due to running the LED lights. Many hope that future updates may provide an option to activate these lights only when the device is charging.

Moreover, some issues persist with the joystick trackpad, which has shown unreliable performance. Despite these flaws, the Legion Go S continues to be heralded as the best handheld gaming PC available, even if not all enhancements meet expectations. While RGB lighting might not be vital for every user, having the choice is a positive step.
