Windows 11 Insider Users May Need to Uninstall Xbox Controller Driver

Microsoft advises uninstalling the Xbox controller driver for those using the latest Windows 11 Insider build to prevent Bluetooth-related issues.

Using an Xbox controller with the latest Windows 11 Insider build can lead to a system bugcheck if connected via Bluetooth. Microsoft advises affected users to uninstall the driver associated with the controller.

Steps to Uninstall the Driver:

  1. Open Device Manager from the search box in your taskbar.
  2. Click on View and select Devices by Driver.
  3. Locate the driver with the name oemXXX.inf (XboxGameControllerDriver.inf).
  4. Right-click on the driver and select Uninstall.

This issue might also affect some third-party controllers recognized as Xbox controllers, so if you’re facing connectivity troubles, it’s advisable to try this fix.
