Two more Fortnite cheaters have been caught and publicly shamed by Epic Games, which is emphasizing its stance on cheating with enforced apologies. The company revealed that legal action was taken against individuals who broke the rules: one sold and used cheats, while the other executed cyber attacks on streamers during live games (DDoS attacks). Both are now banned from Fortnite.
The first to apologize publicly is a cheat seller known as Mirrored, who expressed remorse by stating:
“I would like to apologize to the Fortnite community for both cheating in Fortnite tournaments and selling and distributing cheats and hardware that enabled others to cheat.”
Additionally, Zebsi issued an apology for carrying out DDoS attacks under the username TTV Humpty.LLC, acknowledging the negative impact on fellow players and content creators.
“I am sorry for the DDoS attacks and the harm and damage they caused to the streamers, other players, and Epic Games.”
Epic did not specifically mention whether any financial penalties were imposed, as is often the case in similar situations. The company acknowledges the public nature of these shaming tactics as a way to deter further infractions without completely ruining someone’s life over in-game misconduct. The humiliation serves as a reminder of the consequences of cheating in one of the world’s most popular games.
