A New Co-op Experience in Yakuza 5: Team Up as Kiryu and Ichiban

The latest modification for Yakuza 5 enables a cooperative multiplayer experience between Kiryu and Ichiban, integrating the new character seamlessly into the game's narrative.

In a new exciting development for Yakuza fans, a recently released mod allows players to enjoy Yakuza 5 in a cooperative mode with Kiryu Kazama and Ichiban Kasuga. This mod, named Intertwined Fates, permits two players to experience the entire story together, with the second player stepping into Ichiban’s shoes alongside Kiryu.

Unlike the lackluster inclusion of other characters in previous games, this mod ensures that Ichiban has a meaningful role throughout the gameplay. Players will be able to explore, battle, and even engage in dance-offs in co-op mode. Additionally, Ichiban’s character is woven into various game sequences, including taxi mini-games and idol battles.

“We decided to make Ichiban an extra muscle for Shinada and Haruka,” Jhrino, the modder, explained, emphasizing his integrated presence in key cutscenes.

The mod is designed primarily for local co-op, but it can potentially be adapted for online play. For those who prefer to go solo, players can also have Ichiban serve as an AI companion, enhancing the gameplay experience.

You can find download links and installation guides on the Nexus Mods page.
