A player who has a disability in Marvel Rivals is proposing that NetEase Games revamp the game’s user interface by improving how it reacts to the simultaneous use of a controller and mouse. Recently, Marvel Rivals released its third season, adding the character Jean Grey as a powerful new Duelist called Phoenix.
NetEase Games shared a detailed roadmap for Season 3, revealing exciting features like new swimsuit skins and a collaboration with the upcoming MCU film The Fantastic Four: First Steps. In addition, players can expect a major update on August 8 that will include Blade in the ever-growing character lineup.
In a Reddit discussion, the player known as Scrat-Scrobbler suggested a solution to improve the gameplay experience for disabled users. Currently, when players alternate between devices (like a controller to a keyboard), it causes the game’s interface to switch formats, accompanied by a distracting visual banner and a loud ping sound, making for a clunky experience.
The user believes NetEase Games should implement an option that would allow players to disable these alerts during device transitions. Supporters of this idea have pointed out that Overwatch faced a similar issue at launch but later developers managed to streamline the experience for all gamers.
Recently, NetEase has taken action to improve gameplay by introducing a smurf detection system aimed at discouraging players who create extra accounts to gain an unfair advantage. This new feature was coincidentally implemented with the Season 3 launch and aims to maintain fairness in the game.
With additional content being introduced and the community’s needs being acknowledged, players feel hopeful about the progression and support within Marvel Rivals.
