Elder Scrolls: Legends Set for a Revival
Dedicated fans are working hard to bring back The Elder Scrolls: Legends, which has been offline since January 2025, and are making considerable progress.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends is making a comeback, thanks to the efforts of its most dedicated fans. The Elder Scrolls: Legends has been offline since January 2025, despite having received positive reviews during its operational time.
An unfortunate reality for online gamers is the day a game ceases to exist. While some games offer limited offline or split-screen modes, others, like this one, are completely unplayable. This loss has fueled the Stop Killing Games petition which has gathered over a million signatures from players who miss titles that are no longer accessible.
Recently, a user known as RenianVZ announced on Reddit their project to revive the game under the name Elder Scrolls: Legends Reborn. They began working on server emulation back in December 2024, and have reported significant progress, including a gameplay video demonstrating functioning multiplayer matches with working voice and card animations.
However, RenianVZ has cautioned fans that while excitement to play again is high, the game is still under development and lacks a release date. At present, the matchmaking is randomized, and they are looking for anyone who might want to contribute to the project. Dedicated Elder Scrolls fans will need to remain patient while the project develops further.
There’s concern about whether Bethesda will support this initiative, but the company has shown support for fan projects in the past. A remake of Oblivion is still underway, despite the official Oblivion Remastered release. Only time will tell how far the Elder Scrolls: Legends Reborn project will go, but its dedicated supporters are hopeful for its revival.
