Despite facing a wave of negative reviews, Ready or Not has notably seen its concurrent player count on Steam double, showcasing the game’s ongoing popularity. The tactical shooter, developed by VOID Interactive, was initially released in early access in 2021 and reached its official version in 2023.
This game has been under scrutiny due to recent controversies ahead of its upcoming console launch. Reports indicate that players were upset with changes made to the game’s content, which included removing nudity and toning down gore for certification to console platforms. However, data shows that these issues have not impacted the overall interest in the game.
Earlier this year, Ready or Not underwent a review bombing incident as many players expressed dissatisfaction with adjustments in gameplay. Nonetheless, since June 26, the game has seen an increase, peaking at 17,269 concurrent players on July 6, coinciding with the Steam Summer Sale, where it was offered at a 50% discount. Moreover, the Digital Deluxe Edition currently ranks at the top of PlayStation’s pre-order list, suggesting a strong future for the game on consoles.
