Palworld's New Publishing Venture Draws 150 Game Proposals in Just a Week
The developer of Palworld, Pocketpair, impressed by the overwhelming response to its newly launched publishing arm, has received a significant number of game pitches in a very short timeframe.
Pocketpair, the creator behind Palworld, just launched a new publishing arm, which has received an astonishing response in only one week. The company reported receiving 400 emails, 150 pitches, and over 2000 LinkedIn requests from developers eager to collaborate.
John Buckley, Comms Director and Publishing Manager at Pocketpair, expressed his surprise at the enthusiasm from the developer community: “We are blown away by the interest we have received from YOU, the developers. We’re determined to help as many great games get made as possible, but we cannot help everyone.”
As part of its new venture, Pocketpair has already signed a project with Surgent Studios, founded by actor Abubakar Salim, known for its horror game, Tales of Kenzera: Zau. Further on, the company may finalize agreements on two additional games, though details remain scarce.
The response to Pocketpair’s new initiative illustrates the growing difficulties indie studios face in securing funding for their projects. As highlighted by Simon Roth, developer of colony sim Maia, and Cara Ellison, narrative designer formerly with Dishonored 2, the challenges of finding publishers willing to invest remain significant, even for promising projects.
With Pocketpair’s proactive approach to publishing, it stands out amid these difficulties, promising to support developers in bringing their visions to fruition.
