Modder Celebrates Generating 10,000 Skeletons in Peak with New Mod
A modder has achieved a staggering feat by generating 10,000 skeletons in Peak, creating a unique shared experience for players.
Grim Achievement in Gaming
Despite Peak being a cheerful game featuring a lovable group of climbers facing various hazards, modder BSMG_Steven has introduced a chilling aspect to the gameplay. Over the weekend, they released a new mod called Everest that randomly populates each day’s island with the corpses of players who have tragically met their demise in-game.
The mod saves the location of each player’s death to a server, creating a haunting landscape strewn with skeletons. This addition not only heightens the game’s atmosphere but also resonates with players, reminiscent of features in Dark Souls or the ghostly traces left by deceased players in World of Warcraft.
BSMG_Steven described their creation as one that “creates a shared experience of failure and discovery,” highlighting the fascinating juxtaposition between the game’s inherent light-heartedness and the mod’s eerie twist. According to a tweet from BSMG_Steven, over 3,000 players managed to generate more than 10,000 skeletons while playing on a single day.
This innovative mod is available for download on Thunderstore and enhances the already engaging experience of Peak, currently playable on Steam.
