Actor Michael Madsen, widely recognized for his role as Daud, the supernatural assassin in the Dishonored series, has sadly passed at the age of 67 due to cardiac arrest, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Madsen’s extensive career spanned over four decades, gaining fame through numerous films including Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, and many others. He was also celebrated for voicing Daud, a character that undergoes significant development in the Dishonored games – transitioning from a mere antagonist to a multi-dimensional character full of regret.
In a heartfelt tribute, Virginia Madsen, Michael’s sister, expressed: “He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness, a father, a son, a brother—etched in contradiction, tempered by love that left its mark.”
Madsen’s impact extended into the gaming world beyond Dishonored, with notable performances in titles like Grand Theft Auto 3 and True Crime. His final roles in video games, including Crime Boss: Rockay City, may not have met the same acclaim, but his earlier contributions left a lasting legacy.
