Amazon is expanding its Ring doorbell technology by incorporating artificial intelligence. This enhancement includes generating descriptions for video notifications that will allow users to identify urgent matters quickly. The AI-generated alerts are designed to distinguish between typical activities like seeing a deer on the property versus potential threats. A beta version of this feature has already started rolling out for Ring Home Premium subscribers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Although the new AI addition seems beneficial, concerns about privacy arise due to the history of these devices being compromised.
“These alerts focus solely on events that are unusual in the context of the user’s property. The system will evolve to learn the typical routines within each home, aiming to minimize unnecessary notifications and enhance security.”
