Roblox is reportedly eliminating Star Codes by October 24, pivoting towards the new Creator Rewards program that will offer creators increased earning potential on their contributions. This change aims to replace existing engagement-based payouts and Creator Affiliate programs.
Roblox stands as one of the world’s most popular gaming platforms, engaging millions of players and creators every month. Originally launched in 2006, its user base surged significantly after its 2015 release on Xbox One and expanded further into the PlayStation platform in October 2023. Notably, in May, Roblox outperformed Steam’s top 100 games in terms of active players, showcasing its extensive reach.
According to Bloxy News on X, the transition from Star Codes focuses on allowing creators to earn directly from their games. While many players on Reddit expressed indifference towards the original Star Codes, the community remains divided on the viability of the upcoming Creator Rewards system.
In essence, while some players might welcome the change, there are concerns that it might negatively affect certain creators due to the termination of existing funding mechanisms.
At this juncture, the success of the Creator Rewards program remains to be seen as Roblox continues to captivate its audience with a plethora of engaging games.
