A recent update from FromSoftware has introduced a major element to Elden Ring: Nightreign. Players are now engaging with the first of the new “enhanced bosses”, dubbed the Gaping Maw, which players must defeat to unlock its Everdark Sovereign counterpart.

This surprise drop adds a fresh dynamic to the gameplay experience, as tackling this new boss yields a unique currency called Sovereign Sigils. These can be traded with a newly introduced NPC at the Roundtable Hold for powerful relics and skins.

The Everdark Sovereign bosses won’t be available indefinitely; they will rotate on a weekly basis, adding a layer of urgency and excitement for players. To access them, players must first conquer the regular versions of each boss.

Players are buzzing about this sudden addition, especially considering the lack of communication from FromSoftware about future content. The anticipation for upcoming updates continues to build.
