Infinity Nikki's Housing System Sparks Controversy Over Monetization

The upcoming Version 1.8 of Infinity Nikki may introduce a controversial monthly furniture pass, raising concerns among the gaming community.

Infinity Nikki is set to introduce a housing function in Version 1.8, but leaks suggest that it may also include a paid monthly furniture pass. This adds to the existing concerns regarding the game’s monetization practices. Following a problematic release of Version 1.5, which had multiple technical issues and introduced a monetized dye system, a significant faction of the gaming community has organized a boycott against in-game purchases.

In the previous update, Version 1.5 not only suffered from severe bugs but also rolled out a dye system that heavily relied on premium currency, frustrating many players. As a result, after its launch, numerous gamers opted to abstain from making any purchases or logging into the game.

While Version 1.6 came without further controversy, many fans are still anxious about how Infold Games plans to handle the issues that have plagued Infinity Nikki’s community. Leaks indicate that the housing system may follow a similar path as the dye system, with the monthly pass priced around 80 yuan ($11.13) and individual furniture pieces sold at lower prices.

As fans await Version 1.8, which is still some time away, Infold’s approach to monetization remains a heated topic. Some are hopeful that adjustments can be made to enhance community relations, while others remain skeptical.
