Deltarune Chapter 5 Release Confirmed for 2026, Coming Sooner Than Anticipated
The anticipated release window for Deltarune's fifth chapter has been revealed, much to the delight of fans.
As revealed in the end credits of Deltarune Chapter 4, the story will progress onward with Chapter 5 set to release in 2026. This game serves as a continuation of the popular indie RPG Undertale by Toby Fox. Deltarune features Kris, a human teenager in a monster-populated town, intertwining narratives with familiar characters from the preceding title.
In contrast to Undertale, Deltarune is delivering its content episodically. Since the debut of the first chapter in October 2018, the latest chapters—3 and 4—were released on June 5, coinciding with the launch of Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer for the Switch 2 edition of the game brought forth various updates, including a unique feature that utilizes the Joy-Cons’ mouse mode.
Although specifics on the Chapter 5 launch date remain undisclosed, Toby Fox cleverly concealed this information for dedicated fans to uncover.
For those eagerly awaiting future chapters, this confirmation could bring much excitement, especially after prior delays that had stretched for years. Players yet to delve into the first segments have the opportunity to complete Chapters 1-4 before Chapter 5 arrives next year.
As more of the plot is revealed, Deltarune is gaining momentum. Despite not reaching its predecessor’s prominence at this stage, it has surpassed Undertale in peak player counts during the release of Chapter 2 in September 2021. The simultaneous release of Chapters 3 and 4 could further amp up enthusiasm for the slated Chapter 5 in 2026.
