RuneScape Player Breaks Free From House Arrest by Completing 2,000 Raids in Over 10,000 Hours

A determined RuneScape player achieves an incredible feat by grinding 2,000 raids while confined to a singular zone. This extraordinary journey highlights the lengths dedicated gamers go for their passion.

Since time immemorial, a recurring question has haunted the gaming community: Are RuneScape players alright?

Spoiler alert: They are not.

In a striking instance, a player named Agile Tom undertook an enormous task that spanned over two years. This challenge aimed at pushing the limits of gameplay in Old School RuneScape (OSRS).

With a self-imposed challenge, Tom confined himself to a single ‘chunk’ of the OSRS map, rigorously completing all available quests, achievements, and acquiring all loot, despite the low drop rates.

The Journey

Tom’s quest concluded around June 13, 2025, after accomplishing an astonishing 2,000 raids. His aspiration was to retrieve the Xeric’s Champion cape, necessitating this monumental grind at the Chambers of Xeric raid, located in his restricted chunk of Mount Quidamortem.

Although conventional wisdom suggests aspiring players should possess higher combat levels and skilled allies to tackle such challenges, Tom confronted this obstacle head-on with tenacity.

Eventually, through persistent effort over 10,000 hours of gameplay within his imposed constraints, he triumphed.

In a reflective moment, he stated, “It was all worth it, because we did it: 2,000 Chambers of Xeric on an extreme one-chunk Ironman. Setting a long-term goal and sticking to it is incredibly challenging, yet profoundly rewarding.” After this feat, he targets a new chunk for his next set of adventures.
