The newly released Stellar Blade on PC has opened the doors for a wave of mods. In a recent interview, Hyung-tae Kim, the game’s director, expressed his perspective on modding, stating he views it positively but believes modders should focus on more than just costumes.
Kim mentioned, “The firepower of the modders is still weak. It’s a bit lacking. Up until now, I think the official content is still better… mods that expand the user’s play experience itself would be most welcome.”
While acknowledging the lack of official modding tools for the game, he remains supportive of modders, encouraging them to enhance gameplay rather than dwell on superficial changes. He concluded by appealing to their maturity, asking them to act within the common sense boundaries and avoid sensitive matters.
Stellar Blade being rated for adults gives modders a level of freedom, as Kim notes, “I don’t think there’s any justification for regulating such mods. And realistically, there’s no proper way to regulate them.”
