Notable Figures from Dungeons and Dragons Join Critical Role Team
Jeremy Crawford and Chris Perkins, former directors of Dungeons and Dragons, have transitioned to work with Critical Role’s Darrington Press, aiming to innovate game concepts.
Critical Role has welcomed former Dungeons and Dragons legends, Jeremy Crawford and Chris Perkins, to their Darrington Press team. The duo plans to leverage their extensive background in game development to create innovative game concepts and enhance existing products from Critical Role.
On April 4, Chris Perkins announced his departure from Wizards of the Coast after an impressive 28 years, and shortly thereafter, Jeremy Crawford also shared his exit from the Dungeons and Dragons team before the month’s end. Together, they are celebrated for their pivotal roles in the development of the 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons, shaping its success over the last decade.
Perkins expressed his enthusiasm, stating,
“Storytelling has always been at the heart of everything I do, and joining Darrington Press feels a bit like coming home.”
“I am beyond excited to help create new worlds full of adventure.”
Meanwhile, Crawford shared his eagerness to work with a team dedicated to crafting engaging, narrative-driven experiences, looking forward to contributing his knowledge.
Their collaboration is not just professional; the two have been close friends and co-creators on projects such as Acquisitions Incorporated. Fans are optimistic about seeing this creative partnership continue within a new tabletop RPG company.
The pair is likely to be involved with upcoming Daggerheart products, as Critical Role’s new TTRPG system launched recently, introducing a narrative-driven d12 system. Players eagerly await what Darrington Press and Critical Role will reveal next with Crawford and Perkins in the fold.
