Recent analysis from Xbox Cloud Gaming’s code indicates that Microsoft might be considering another price hike for Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. Initially launched in July 2017, the service currently boasts over 35 million subscribers and has been praised for providing access to numerous significant releases.
One developer, RedPhx, identified a new notification in the system, labeled “SubscriptionPriceIncrease,” which suggests a possible adjustment in the price tiers for subscriptions. This comes after Microsoft already increased Xbox Game Pass prices last year, with the Ultimate tier moving from $17 to $20 monthly. Such changes have not been well received by gamers, raising concerns about future pricing strategies.
Should Microsoft proceed with these potential increases, it will likely upset many users who are currently enjoying the extensive library of games available through the service.
