Dying Light: The Beast Will Be Free for Some Players

Techland announces that owners of the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 will receive the upcoming game The Beast at no extra cost.

Developer Techland has confirmed that the forthcoming title in the Dying Light series, titled The Beast, will be offered for free to owners of Dying Light 2: Ultimate Edition. Scheduled to be available on August 22, The Beast is a standalone spin-off of the Dying Light franchise and its announcement was made during Gamescom 2024.

Originally intended as downloadable content for Dying Light 2, the project’s direction changed after a leak prompted its transformation into a standalone game featuring Kyle Crane, the beloved character from the first Dying Light. Techland is committed to providing free access to The Beast for existing Dying Light 2: Ultimate Edition owners, ensuring that they benefit from this new title at no additional cost.

In a recent Reddit post, Techland reiterated, “All owners of Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition will receive Dying Light: The Beast at no additional cost.” This title will also include various pre-order bonuses such as exclusive outfits and weapons for players who receive it for free.

For those who enjoy Dying Light 2, new events and updates are planned until at least the end of this year, including a summer event and a Halloween-themed update.
