MindsEye Hotfix Targeted by Developer After Steam Rating Dives

Following a disappointing launch, MindsEye's developer commits to performance enhancements and announces an imminent hotfix to address player feedback.

After a rocky start with a predominantly negative rating on Steam, developer Build a Rocket Boy is pledging to tackle performance issues in its game MindsEye. The anticipated hotfix is scheduled for release at the end of this week.

The game faced backlash at launch owing to its high system requirements and technical shortcomings, which have detracted from the overall user experience. Acknowledging the players’ frustrations, the developer expressed intentions to optimize game performance for a broader range of systems.

Upcoming Hotfix Features:

  • Enhanced CPU and GPU performance
  • Adjusted difficulty levels in the CPR minigame
  • Options to modify or disable depth of field
  • Resolved control issues for specific minigames
  • Notification for users with potential hardware issues

Additionally, the developer has confirmed that the content creation platform Build.MindsEye is now fully operational, and they are working to rectify problems related to missing downloadable content.

The controversy even led to a cancellation of a sponsored livestream with well-known streamer CohhCarnage, marking a significant moment in the game’s launch.

Players are encouraged to submit feedback through various channels to aid in improving the gaming experience.
