Is DeadWire the Next Big Top-Down Action Game? Set to Launch in September 2025
“Think fast, hack faster,” is DeadWire’s catchy tagline. When packaged in a top-down action format that draws inspiration from Hotline Miami, Gunpoint, and classic GTA, it certainly captures attention. It’s now aiming for a September 2025 release.
During its showcase at the PC Gaming Show 2025, players got a glimpse of Shotgun Anaconda and CoLab’s visually impressive hack ’em up, which hints at the various environmental cybercrimes you’ll engage in within its dark and dystopian neo-futuristic setting.
Assuming the role of a mysterious operator named ‘Wire’, players are given the mission to wreak havoc upon the city through both intelligence and brute force across 35 levels, resulting in grand and bloody spectacles.
As players navigate through the game, they will learn to manipulate seemingly benign objects to create a chain-reaction of chaos and destruction. While it may sound excessive, DeadWire encourages players to think outside the box, pushing their abilities and their tolerance for mayhem to the extremes. The game also includes quieter moments that allow for stealth, rewarding clever use of the environment just as much as overt violence.
With its official release set for September, fans excited about this electrifying experience should wishlist DeadWire on Steam right now.
