Announcement: Dune: Awakening’s Sandworm is Missing
It appears that the enigmatic sandworm known as Shai-Hulud is currently unaccounted for. Funcom has confirmed this situation via their official Discord, stating that they are aware of the issue and are working diligently to restore the creature’s presence in the game. They assured fans that the sandworm will soon resume prowling the vast deserts of Arrakis.
How does one misplace such a large and voracious creature that constantly surfaces whenever players tread on the sand? The answer might be simpler than it seems: With Dune: Awakening still in its early days following launch, some bugs are to be anticipated. Alternatively, it’s possible that Funcom has intentionally disabled the sandworm for adjustments without prior announcement.
The absence of this iconic beast may offer players a unique chance to explore and engage in activities without the constant threat of being consumed. However, players still look forward to its return, as the sandworm adds significant tension and excitement to the gaming experience. So for now, players can take a breather from Shai-Hulud and enjoy their time on the dunes without the immediate risk of being devoured.
