Ascendant: A Multiplayer Shooter with a Neon Twist

Discover the chaotic gameplay of Ascendant, a multiplayer shooter that promises an engaging experience with unpredictable events and modular weapons.

PlayFusion’s latest trailer for Ascendant has debuted at the PC Gaming Show 2025, offering a sneak peek into what players can expect from this exuberant multiplayer shooter, featuring tanks, innovative weapons, and quirky hairstyles.

After emerging from a millennium-long cryo-slumber, participants will be thrown into a wild and vibrant setting dubbed a “neon-drenched PvPvE fever dream.” Players will encounter savage adversaries and formidable local wildlife, with each encounter differing due to evolving maps and random toxic storms leading to devastating airstrikes.

Random events will also unfold during battles, as biocores appear across various locations, making every session a challenge. The guiding principle in this chaotic world is: “Adapt or die.”

Additionally, theres a robust modular weapon crafting system allowing players to create their own unique weapons, termed “Franken-guns,” with over 3 million possible combinations. The developers invite players to get creative, questioning, “Want a poison-spitting SMG or a sniper that shoots explosives? Go for it! Just be ready for someone to show up with an even crazier weapon.”

Aside from the tumultuous gameplay, there will also be a social space for players to interact, engage in playful banter, or simply chill before jumping back into the action, with leaderboards, loadouts, and a casual atmosphere.

So far, Ascendant appears poised to deliver a delightful mix of chaos and enjoyment, promising some of the best and most memorable moments in the realm of PvPvE shooters. If this sounds like your kind of game, wishlist Ascendant on Steam right now.
