Hi-Rez Studios Streamlines Senior Management Amid Organizational Changes
Hi-Rez Studios has announced a round of layoffs aimed at senior management roles to adjust to the company's current structure following previous workforce reductions.
In a significant move just months after a previous workforce reduction affecting around 70 employees, Hi-Rez Studios, the company behind Smite 2, has initiated another round of layoffs that will primarily impact senior management roles.
Stewart Chisam, the president of Hi-Rez Studios, stated that the timing for this restructuring felt appropriate at this juncture. The adjustments were confirmed by other studio personnel despite the initial reports circulating on social media.
“As a result of this reorganization, several notable figures in senior management—including Chisam himself—are transitioning away from their roles. The goal is to streamline operations and better align with the company’s current size,” Alex Cantatore shared.
Chisam remarked, “The board concluded that the current management structure held more senior positions than necessary for our company’s scale. Although this decision affects our management tier, it won’t hinder our commitment to advancing Smite 2 and enhancing the overall player experience.”
In light of the ongoing organizational changes, Hi-Rez reiterates its dedication to maintaining and improving its flagship gaming titles while focusing on expanding the game’s universe at a steady rate.
