Dune: Awakening Surprises with Private Server Features at Launch

Players will soon enjoy private servers in Dune: Awakening, featuring customizable settings for taxes and PvP.

Dune: Awakening, the upcoming survival MMO, has announced an exciting addition just before its launch: the ability to run private servers. This feature allows players to tailor their experiences by enabling or disabling taxes, as well as offering a ‘free-for-all’ PvP mode.

This option was highly anticipated by the community. Funcom, the developer, stated that players can run these servers from the start of the game’s head-start launch on June 5.

Though customization isn’t as expansive as in some other survival games, specific adjustments can be made. Notably, players can toggle aspects like PvP zones, taxation rules, and the occurrence of sandstorms on their servers.

In Dune: Awakening, private servers operate within a shared world, allowing players to interact with those on other private settings while still maintaining a distinct experience from official servers. Funcom has revealed that each server can host 40+ players, and collectively, the world can accommodate several hundred concurrent users sharing social hubs and engaging in exploration and conflict over spice.

This news fosters excitement for those eager to immerse themselves fully in the Dune universe while enjoying their own discretion in gameplay.
