Jonathan Joss, recognized for his role as John Redcorn in 'King of the Hill,' was fatally shot during a confrontation allegedly related to ongoing neighborhood harassment.

The actor, famously known for voicing John Redcorn in the animated series King of the Hill, was tragically killed in Texas. This incident arose during an altercation with a neighbor, as reported by local police.

According to sources from the San Antonio Express News, Joss was shot multiple times amidst a dispute connected to ongoing threats and harassment related to his personal life. Emergency responders confirmed that he was declared dead at the scene after the shooting.

The individual suspected of the shooting, identified as Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, reportedly fled the area but was apprehended shortly after. While the authorities have not disclosed a motive, Joss’s husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, alleged that the attack was a hate crime motivated by homophobia and a culmination of harassment over time. He detailed past threats, claiming the couple faced relentless bullying as they tried to live peacefully.

In a heartfelt statement on social media, de Gonzales wrote: “My husband and I were targeted due to our relationship. We’ve endured too much harassing behavior, often laced with homophobic epithets. Json was a loving partner, and in this tragic moment, he protected my life.”

Joss was 59 years old and well-regarded for his talent in both voice acting and live performances, utilizing his skills across various entertainment platforms. His legacy in the gaming world encompasses roles from acclaimed titles like Red Dead Redemption and the beloved Cyberpunk 2077.
