Introduction to the Nintendo Switch 2's Welcome Tour - Features and Demos Explored

The Nintendo Switch 2's Welcome Tour promises a range of mini-games and tech demonstrations set to enhance user experience at launch.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is set to feature 20 distinct mini-games upon its launch alongside the new console. While some of these mini-games may have similar themes, players can also expect 14 tech demos designed to familiarize them with the new hardware.

The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to debut on June 5, 2025. With at least 25 games confirmed for launch, including two new first-party titles, excitement is building around this next-generation console. Among these titles, Mario Kart World has generated significant hype, alongside the Welcome Tour, aiming to showcase the new console’s features in an engaging format.

To prepare for the launch, a Japanese-language overview trailer has been released, illustrating the game’s in-game mechanics. Players can look forward to controlling tiny avatars as they navigate a massive Switch 2 and its accessories, utilizing collected medals to unlock additional content. The game will also feature a modest file size of only 2GB, allowing players to explore various secrets and quizzes throughout their adventure.

Features of the Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour

Only a handful of mini-games have been revealed so far. New additions include an educational game that utilizes Switch 2’s mouse features, tasking players with dodging falling objects while aiming at balloons in a 3D space. Other games shown include ones that involve driving, scientific exploration, and some creative emoji manipulation.

Despite the buzz surrounding its demo-filled offerings, there has been some contention over its pricing; the Welcome Tour will require a purchase of $9.99, much to the surprise of those expecting a free version.
